JC-Electronics this week launches JCertified, a warranty seal for refurbished industrial electronics. With this, the electronics company responds to the overstrained situation in the market for drives, HMIs, PLCs and industrial PCs. Supply problems from major manufacturers have caused market prices to rise by more than 20% over the past year, freeing up suppliers with low-quality electronics. JC-Electronics wants to give the manufacturing industry confidence in refurbished electronics with its quality mark.

"Electronics that have worked can work again. Based on this philosophy, we have set up a powerful repair and refurbish process over the past 16 years." says Caspar Botter, manager Sales & Marketing at JC-Electronics. In this process, electronics are first professionally cleaned so that all dirt is removed. Next, defects and malfunctions are fixed and wear-sensitive components are replaced. Finally, the electronics are thoroughly tested. For Siemens HMIs, the housing and foils are also replaced.

The industrial electronics market is turned upside down by the chip shortage, a lack of raw materials and suspended production of new industrial electronics at Siemens, among others. In addition, using reconditioned electronics is a more sustainable solution. When a drive, PLC, HMI or industrial PC is reused, raw materials do not have to be mined and the environment is less burdened with waste (e-waste).
